Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the most valuable meeting of BCCI. This meeting is held every year at the end of the year. This year also this meeting was held on 24th December. In this meeting many issues are discussed and the issues are solved. This year also many problems were solved in the AGM such as new teams in IPL, Mega or Mini auction in IPL 2021 and appointment of the new chief-selecter for BCCI. This meeting was held in Ahmedabad and the officers of BCCI such as Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah participated in this meeting.

Decisions took in the AGM

1. The New Chief-Selector

It was a concern from many days that who will be the new chief-selector of BCCI. So the problem had finally solved and Chetan Sharma, a former fast bowler who had played 23 Tests and 65 ODIs for India has been appointed as the new Chief-Selector of BCCI. Before Chetan Sharma, Sunil Joshi a former spinner was the chief-selector of Indian Men's Team. Abey Kuruvilla and Debasish Mohanty are also other members in his panel.

2. No Mega Auction

Mega Auction is held every 3rd season of IPL. Last time the mega auction was held on 2018 and this year the time was of Mega Auction not Mini but the 2020 IPL was held in September rather than in April, so the difference in the IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 was too less and this is the first reason why next year mini auction will be held. Majority teams like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Punjab were also saying that Mega Auction should not held this year because they were satisfied with their current squads. But BCCI had said that in the IPL 2022, mega auction will be held.

3. Two New Teams in IPL

After the IPL 2020, BCCI was planning to add 9th and 10th team for 2021 IPL to make the IPL more interesting and difficult. If the new teams would be added, the fees of the current teams will be deducted and this is why tha current teams are not interested in the addition of new teams. And in Mini Auction, very less players are deducted so it would be too difficult for new teams to maintain their squads. So BCCI has said that new teams will be added in IPL but in 2022 season, not 2021 season.

4. Venues for WT20 2021

T20 World Cup 2021 is going to be organised by India and in this meeting BCCI had shortlisted some of the venues on which the matches of World T20 will be played. Many doubts were there that matches will not be played in North-Indian Region but it's wrong, some North-Indian venues are also selected.

The venues shortlisted by BCCI for WT20 are :

• Sardar Patel Stadium (Ahmedabad)

• Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai)

• Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru)

• Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (Delhi)

• Eden Gardens (Kolkata)

• MA Chindambaram Stadium (Chennai)

• Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (Dharamshala)

• Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium (Mohali)

5. IPL Auction : Venue & Date

Rather than the Auction type (Mini or Mega), BCCI also announced the venue and date for the IPL Auction. Venue for the Mini Auction is Ahmedabad. The date is not clearly told but hinted that the auction will be organised somewhere in the mid of February.
