History had been created by New Zealand by winning the first ever WTC final by defeating India. This tournament had lasted more than 2 years but still after too much of hardwork, India can't win the tournament. This would be a nightmare for India as this New Zealand's Team had only defeated them in the the World Cup Semifinal which was also held in England in 2019.
Story Of the Match
From the First Day, this match had neither been in the hands of India. This match was a low scoring match. In the 5 days match, 2 days had been washed up by rain so the reserve day had been in use which was played as Day 6. The first day was washed up. In the second day, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first as favourable according to the conditions of England. New Zealand team had played a Test Series against England in England Conditions so they were highly prepared for this but Indian team had played IPL which was postponed 2 months ago which is a too much of time. In the Day 2, Rohit Sharma And Shubhman Gill came to bat. They made around 64 runs and then the Partnership had been broken. After Rohit, no one in the match had played any good knock except Rahane and Kohli. The whole team had been all out in a low score of 217. And when New Zealand Team came to bat, then there were no chances for Indian Team in the Day 4 as the Day 3 was also washed out. It took more than 30 overs to take one wicket of them. It took too much of time to all out the whole team. Then when India came to bat, there performance was far bad than their first innings. Nobody tried to dominate and hit some quick runs. Only two players in the team tried but due to the bad performance of others, they too cant succeed. The two players were Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Pant had scored the most runs in the second innings. India cant play the whole second session of the last day and got all out in just 170 runs. But when New Zealand team came to bat, everyone was waiting some magical from Indian bowlers but except Ashwin noone take wickets. Ashwin took 2 crucial wickets of the Kiwi Openers Tom Latham, and Devon Conway. But Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor managed to bring their team at the last and make them win the first match.
It was a bad day for India. But the solution is to make a stronger team than this and to prepare well from matches against New Zealand. Many people think that matches against New Zealand are very difficult but it is not so. Teams like Australia, West Indies, England and South Africa won against New Zealand several times and India is far better than these teams. India has defeated all these teams bit when it came to New Zealand, India always fails. This is because of the wrong technique of Indian players and so this is an advantage for the Kiwi Bowlers and they easily dismiss every player. This same reason was behind in the WC Semi final.
