The year 2020 had ended and the latest ICC test rankings had been uploaded by ICC and it looks like there's a huge loss for Steve Smith and Virat Kohli as Kane Williamson had topped the rankings and had become the best Test batsman of the year 2020.
In the test series between New Zealand and Pakistan, Kane had shown an excellent form and had also had recently scored a century. Where Smith is facing a very bad form in Test Series between India and Australia, Virat had just played one match in the test series and had got a paternity leave.
It's a loss for Smith and Kohli as before there was a contest between these two only but now one more competitor in the form of Kane has joined the arena.
In the latest rankings, Kane had replaced Smith and is leading in the rankings. First is retaining his second position and Smith is slipped to the third position. Ajinkya Rahane has gained the sixth rank and Pujara has fallen into the tenth rank.
