In India Tour of Australia, injuries have been a huge flaw for both the teams. This scenario started with Rohit Sharma and now many players such as Aaron Finch, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Mohammad Shami got injured till now in this series.
But recently one more name had added in this list. The name is Umesh Yadav. After Shami's injury, he had been placed in the squad in the second test match that was played in Melbourne. But between the match, he was injured and had left the ground. Shardul Thakur was fielding in the absence of Umesh.
After Umesh's checkup, it has been declared that he has been ruled out of the full Test Series played between India and Australia. After this news, it has been a topic of discussion that who will be the third fast bowler for India who will be replacing Umesh Yadav in upcoming two test matches. Some names that had come are Navdeep Saini, T Natarajan and Shardul Thakur. Saini is the most popular name as he can bowl in a good spot but due to his bad form in ODI series, it is quite difficult to play with him but if he shows good bowling in the nets without any doubt India can take him. T Natarajan is the second option. Natarajan has shown some good form in the T20 and ODI series and that is why he is the most prominent player that would be chosen. Last but not the least, Shardul Thakur. Shardul can bowl as well as can also bat in the tail for India. Shardul can be a good option if the upper and middle order failed.
